El-Qist: The Journal of Islamic Economics and Business (JIEB) is a peer-reviewed international journal published biannually by the Department of Islamic Economics, Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business, UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya, Indonesia. This journal is dedicated to advancing scholarly discourse in the fields of Islamic jurisprudence and economics by addressing contemporary issues and challenges within Islamic studies.
El-Qist welcomes contributions from scholars and experts across disciplines, encouraging research that meets rigorous academic standards. While focusing on Islamic jurisprudence and economics in the Indonesian context, the journal also explores themes such as Islamic philanthropy, socio-economic practices, and their influence on local and global economies. New Policy (Effective June 2025). To ensure equitable publishing opportunities for a broader range of contributors, authors whose articles have been published in El-Qist within the last two years will be subject to a submission embargo. Any new submission from the same author will only be considered for review after four subsequent journal issues (equivalent to two years) following their most recent publication in this journal.
