Ethical Clearance
As research involves human subjects, each article submitted to El-Qist must meet the requirements for ethical approval, including:

Research ethics. Making sure research is conducted honestly, accurately, safely and without making up or altering data or images (‘fabrication and/or falsification’).

Plagiarism. Following rules about what counts as copying, including copying your own work. This gives proper credit when using others’ ideas (plagiarism, self-plagiarism or text recycling).

Authorship and contributorship. Giving proper credit to everyone who worked on the research and writing, and in what role.

Peer review. Making sure the review process is fair, unbiased and timely.

Allegations of misconduct. Handling concerns about possible misconduct, whether before or after publication, and having a transparent process for concerns.

Data. Handling data responsibly, including how it is used, stored, registered, and shared.

Post-publication review. Allowing for discussion after research is published, with ways to point out concerns and correct or retract articles if needed.

Conflicts of interest. Transparency of any personal, financial, or professional interests that might affect the research or how it is understood.
