Jurnal Manajemen dan Inovasi (MANOVA) is committed to ensuring that authorship accurately reflects the intellectual contributions and responsibilities of individuals involved in the research and preparation of a manuscript. The journal follows the principles of transparency, accountability, and publication ethics recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

1. Eligibility for Authorship

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial scholarly contributions to the research and manuscript. Qualifying contributions may include:

  1. Developing the research idea, research design, theoretical framework, or methodology.
  2. Collecting, analyzing, or interpreting research data.
  3. Developing the manuscript, drafting substantial sections, or critically revising it for important intellectual content.
  4. Approving the final version of the manuscript before submission or publication.
  5. Accepting responsibility for the integrity and accuracy of their contributions and cooperating in resolving questions concerning the research or publication.

All listed authors must have made meaningful scholarly contributions, approved the final manuscript, and agreed to be accountable for the work. Authorship should not be granted solely on the basis of academic position, seniority, institutional affiliation, funding provision, administrative support, or supervisory status.

2. Author Contributions

MANOVA encourages authors to clearly describe the individual contributions of each author. Authors may use the Contributor Roles Taxonomy (CRediT), where appropriate, to identify contributions such as conceptualization, methodology, investigation, data curation, formal analysis, writing – original draft, writing – review and editing, supervision, and funding acquisition.

Individuals who have contributed to the research but do not meet the authorship criteria should be acknowledged appropriately, with their consent, rather than listed as authors.

3. Corresponding Author Responsibilities

The corresponding author is responsible for communicating with the editorial office throughout the submission, peer-review, and publication processes. The corresponding author must ensure that:

  • All eligible authors are included in the manuscript.
  • All authors have reviewed and approved the submitted and final versions.
  • The author order and affiliations have been agreed upon by all authors.
  • All authors are informed of the submission and significant editorial decisions.
  • Relevant declarations, including conflicts of interest, funding information, and research ethics statements, are complete and accurate.
  • All authors are informed of any proposed changes to authorship.

The corresponding author must provide accurate information and respond to editorial inquiries concerning authorship and research integrity.

4. Author Order and Changes in Authorship

The order of authors must be determined by mutual agreement among all authors before submission. MANOVA does not prescribe a universal author-ordering convention; authors are responsible for agreeing on an order that fairly reflects their contributions and the conventions of their discipline.

Any addition, removal, or rearrangement of authors after submission must be supported by a written explanation and the agreement of all authors affected by the change, including any author being added or removed. The editorial office may request a formal authorship-change declaration before considering the request.

MANOVA reserves the right to suspend editorial processing while a proposed change is being reviewed. Changes after publication will be handled in accordance with applicable publication-ethics procedures.

5. Unethical Authorship Practices

MANOVA does not permit the following practices:

  • Gift authorship: listing individuals who have not made qualifying scholarly contributions.
  • Ghost authorship: omitting individuals who have made qualifying scholarly contributions without appropriate justification.
  • Guest authorship: including an individual to increase the perceived credibility of a manuscript without a qualifying contribution.
  • Unauthorized authorship changes: adding, removing, or rearranging authors without the required agreement.
  • Misrepresentation of contributions: providing false or misleading statements about the contributions of authors.

Suspected authorship misconduct may result in a request for clarification, suspension of editorial processing, rejection of the manuscript, or other appropriate action in accordance with the journal's publication-ethics policies.

6. Use of Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence (AI) tools and large language models cannot be listed as authors because they cannot assume responsibility or accountability for scholarly work. Authors who use AI tools in manuscript preparation, data analysis, image generation, or other relevant research activities must disclose such use in accordance with MANOVA's AI policy and the journal's submission instructions.

Human authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and ethical compliance of the submitted work.

7. Authorship Disputes

All authors are encouraged to discuss and agree on authorship and author order at an early stage of the research. If an authorship dispute arises, MANOVA will request relevant information and documentation from the parties involved and may suspend the editorial process while the matter is being resolved.

The journal will follow applicable COPE guidance and may refer the matter to the relevant institution when appropriate. The journal will not independently determine disputed contributions beyond the evidence available to it.

8. Author Declaration

By submitting a manuscript to MANOVA, the corresponding author confirms that all listed authors meet the journal's authorship criteria, have approved the submitted version, and have agreed to the submission. All authors are expected to accept responsibility for the integrity of their contributions and cooperate in addressing any questions regarding the work.

MANOVA reserves the right to take appropriate editorial action if authorship declarations are found to be inaccurate or misleading.
