Filantropi Islam sebagai Pilar Pembangunan Sosial dan Ekonomi di Lazizmu Mojokerto

Abstract

: Islamic philanthropy is an important instrument in supporting social and economic development, especially in areas with high levels of poverty and social needs. In Islam, philanthropy has existed and been practiced since the time of the Prophet Muhammad, namely 15 centuries ago. With theological and sharia foundations, the practice of philanthropy in Islam has a strategic and decisive position and role. Lazismu, as an amil zakat institution under Muhammadiyah, plays a significant role in managing zakat, infaq, sadaqah and waqf (ZISWAF) funds entrusted by the people. Lazismu modernizes the management of philanthropic funds, so that the results are maximized in providing benefits to the people and the nation. The purpose of this study is to analyze the role of Islamic philanthropy in Lazismu Mojokerto as a pillar of social and economic development of the local community. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method, collecting data through interviews, and direct field observations. ZISWAF funds are managed accountably and transparently, as well as the use of needs-based programs, making Lazismu Mojokerto trusted by the community and various parties as an agent of social change. The conclusion of this study states that Islamic philanthropy in Lazismu Mojokerto is not only a tool for wealth redistribution, but also a major pillar in sustainable socio-economic development.
